Tablet

This is a Scottish confection called tablet - a sort of very crumbly fudge. Easy to make and great to give as presents. Which is lucky because it is frighteningly easy to eat quite a lot more than a couple of pieces.

I also made apricot brownies. Have I mentioned how much I loathe brownies? I'm all for a bit of claggy food- the bottom of a yorkshire pudding, the underside of a meat and potato pie crust... but brownies go beyond the pale. They aren't just claggy, they're clingy too. They stick to your teeth and won't let go.
