and a bee...
Hellebore again.. too lovely not to blip a few times at least! I was disappointed that we woke to rain but it soon stopped and I risked putting out a towel wash to see if it would dry a little in the cooler breeze. They did.. but not fully. It is a lot colder again after that rather wonderful week just had. You cannot say village life is boring round here.. the new (nice we think) neighbours have had the builders in and are now beginning to construct a magnificent garden.. so an enormous digger has removed all the quince trees, rose arbours, and all the plants including a 30ft long yew hedge.. with more to go tomorrow.. will they save the silver birch I wonder.. probably not.. so that was the excitement on one side. On the other side we have had some rentals living in a tiny cottage for the past year.. I had heard they were going to move before the end of March but it is possible they have already left.. owing money to the owner.. there have been no comings and goings for the past couple of days. In the meantime Mr Tidy who lives in the cottage next to the rental one was caught (by me) dragging prunings out of the rental cottage garden. He once paid someone to go and chop down an apple tree in the rental garden so that he could have the view!!!! Words were had previously I believe but perhaps he knows the tenants have gone and that no one would notice? I popped out and said hello as he dragged the material back into his garden but he wasn't in the mood for conversation... Either because he was feeling a little guilty or just because.. !!!! The cheek of it!
