Lunch
I wondered how to respond to today's MonoMonday challenge of "left behind" and this is what I came up with after lunch
This is what got left behind after the muscles had been eaten and the shells had been boiled for 30 minutes, rinsed, dried in the oven for 20 minutes and blitzed in a blender - calcium and phosphates - an excellent fertilizer for your plants.
J had mussels for his lunch and I had read somewhere that boiled egg shells were good for deterring slugs and snails from eating plants in the garden. I wondered if mussel shells would do the same, so I googled it and the above is what I found. Great for houseplants apparently. We'll see.
