Planning permission
Edinburgh City Council planning department must have seen the error of its past ways, when huge swathes of old buildings were either torn down or gutted to make way for corporate dollars modernity.
This stationers in the middle of town (clue: rhymes with scraper face) has obviously been told to keep the old ceiling cornice and plasterwork intact. It's very unobtrusive - I've been in many times to buy my pens and pencils, and never noticed it. Too busy handing over my corporate dollars.
