Diagon Alley apparently
Our friends Rob and Kathy from New Jersey have been over in Scotland for the last week playing in a curling competition in Inverness.
Now that the competition has finished they have popped south to Edinburgh before heading home on Tuesday, and it was great to see them.
We had a nice, but interesting lunch at the City Restaurant, which ended up with a cup of coffee being tipped over Martin … accidentally, I hasten to add. The poor waitress was so so embarrassed and upset that Martin’s white linen shirt was covered in a full latte with extra shot.
Suffice to say, Martin wasn’t in the slightest bit upset and he and us did our best to say accidents happen and we didn’t care. Anyway, afterwards Martin went to Forbidden Planet up the road and bought a Godfather t shirt (it was on sale) to change into.
Following on, we walked round city centre, visiting all the tourists spots and what we realised is that Edinburgh could be called Harry Potter Town, as there are so many references to J.K. Rowling, including Victoria Street (above) which is often referenced as the inspiration for Diagon Alley.
Anyway, we had a great time and are now home, leaving Kathy and Rob to their own devices.
Here’s hoping you have enjoyed today.n
