Starling murmuration

This afternoon, there was a starling murmuration taking place right in front of our house. At some point, hundreds of birds occupied the sails of the Widde Meuln windmill and from this closeup I'm gathering there might be some work for the volunteers cleaning up. I guess our house will also have received its share. I think the birds are all facing the other way to avoid identification :-).

I have also captured some video with my phone, showing the birds twisting, turning and swirling across the sky in huge numbers. The extra photos show an entire sail covered in birds and a still from one of the videos I made.
