Billy Goat

By billygoat

Time for a tidy up.

Three winters ago we lost the ceanothus that was planted against this fence. It was very large and one small piece survived but not for long and so we dug it up.
Freed of the big shrub the vinca went mad, along with the pulmonaria and celandine. Dug the whole lot out yesterday, hopefully without upsetting the agapanthus too much. Found some cuttings in the cold frame and went out this afternoon to our favourite garden centre that is now under new ownership who seem to think gift shop tat is more important than plants! Still found a shrubby ceanothus that has been duly planted and the whole area mulched with five year old leaf mould.
