Sally Mair - Loving life

Freddie's Daffs

This planter used to sit in front of my sisters front door in Durham. She used to fill it with first tulips then geranium of the same shade of red as her front door. I have a blue front door so that doesn't work although it did have some iris blooming in it earlier.
The daffodils look good in the sun I thought and the garden is beginning to turn yellow as it always does, I can't resist daffodils both in pots and in the earth. I was very pleased to see a particularly tiny variety - about 2" - which flowered two years ago but not last year, it's in bud. I thought I must have lost them.
It's the first Sunday of Lent today so we used one of my favourite settings for the Eucharistic. It's based on a Ukrainian setting and arranged by our organist and his father - or former organist and his son, depending which way you want to look at it! . It includes music for the Beattitudes which I love.
I had a warm welcome from the congregation this morning which made me realise how much I love being there.
Our congregational profile is almost ready and once the Bishop has added his piece we should be ready, finally, to advertise. We're not going to have anyone in place before August though by the sounds of it. Far too long in my opinion.
