City Life

A big day in the city. I love Cork but I think I'm over cities in general. It was Saturday I guess  but it was heaving and so much consumption - of everything. Having said that, we stayed in a fairly swish hotel right on the river - Lee River Hotel, there's a clue there!  We were on the fourth floor and the views were mighty, right across the city in all directions. We had a wander and ventured into St Finbarre's Cathedral, a Gothic masterpiece designed by William Burgess., full of amazing stained glass and mosaics.
This went off before I was ready and I can't delete it so bear with me! Still working on it.
We then had some supper in the hotel - hmmm. It was a most artfully arrange teeny plate of rocket, two peas, a walnut and a crisp! At vast expense! We were ravenous as we headed off to the theatre and looking for a bag of chips! In the end we had a bar of chocolate. Gobnait was brilliant, the Opera House jam-packed with a very local and very enthusiastic audience and even though I am not a fan of musicals, much enjoyed it. We took a taxi home and the sights were astonishing!
A few extras which will be going shortly.
