All they survey . . .

My friend Jenny and her husband live in a house that is on the edge of a marl pit. They have made themselves a beautiful garden in this challenging situation. They have built out a large deck area which looks out from height over the garden, and which has steps down onto the lawn. The deck is crowded with pots of geraniums and lavender and the garden below is immaculate. On the far side of the pit Alan has built up a series of terraces, also adorned with pots. Wisely, they have an automatic watering system! They do work very hard in their garden, and it is lovely!
