Night Walks
Last week at Penrith Camera club there was a talk by Ken Scott. It was a cross between Mindfullness and Photography. I found it very thought provoking, I've done a bit of both but never really connected them together.
Ken has been taking daily photos in the same way as blippers, I was interested in the way he sees images in terms of light, form, shadow, shape etc and on the walk home I was seeing images everywhere - things I have walked by many times and not "seen."
One thing I saw was the Belisha Beacon with the colours, shapes and silhouettes and I returned tonight with my camera.
I took this with my new 100mm f/2.8 macro lens as my only other fast lens is a wide angle and I might have been knocked down standing in the road with that. I like the bonnet this Belisha wears.
I moved on into the town and took a few shots around the clocktower (extra) and then on the way back I heard a rock/blues band in the Druids Arms, which was the cue to pop in for a Guinness. The first few minutes I was messing about trying to work out why I couldn't get any focus only to turn the camera around and find condensation all over the lens - the place was rocking and steamy, after the defog here is the result (extra)
Not sure which was my favourite, Jess went for the clocktower but I went for the beacon as that was my original target.
Any thoughts ?
