Lots of daffodils
Today we went to the NT house and gardens at Kingston Lacey, near Wimborne. Although the snowdrops are nearly over there were lots of varieties of daffodils .
We also went in the house and were very impressed by the volunteers in some of the rooms who were very knowledgeable about the important portraits by famous painters. As in most NT houses the lighting is very low to protect the paintings but these guides used special torches to point out particular features of paintings which was so good - I’ve not seen this method used before.
A good trip up the motorways and back home after an enjoyable time away.
Daughter and grandchildren staying the night as her husband has three friends staying for a ‘rugby weekend’. They were arching on TV today in a pub and going to the Twickenham match tomorrow. We’ve realised she has not slept in our house since she got married ..in 2011!
