A Mouse-eye’s view of Hallgrímskirkja, Reykjavik

Continuing to age disgracefully!

By the time we got home from the airport, it was getting on for 2am, again, when I finally got to bed. So a very weary day, having averaged less than 5 hours sleep a night for the last 3 nights. Beautiful sunny morning, walked with P down to the station for her to catch the train home, then spent the rest of the day pottering and resting up.

Didn’t have chance yesterday to blip my last day in Iceland so a few of my many pics of Reykjavik, a day where the weather changed every 2mins, from blue skies to snow showers and back again. After browsing the shops, visited the Hallgrímskirkja and took the lift to the top of the tower for amazing views over the city, in every direction. Love all the colourful houses, the green house in extra no 5 is where I stayed 20 years ago. For lunch we chose a wonderful restaurant in one of the oldest buildings in Reykjavik, after which we spent our last hour wandering around the central part of the city, before catching the bus back to the airport for the flight back to Bristol, passing a volcano which erupted in November, and which is due to erupt again any day now (last extra). Had a wonderful time, just wish we could’ve stayed longer...

Thank you so much for all your kind stars and hearts for my Icelandic blips. Sorry for my absence, hope to start catching up...
