A grey, cold, wet Madrid . . .
. . . requires a traditional, warming lunch!
The view is from our regular Hostal Ivor in Calle Arsenal and the restaurant is one of the city’s stalwarts, Casa Ciriaco, en Calle Mayor. It’s been on the go for ages and counts various kings, actors and politicians among its patrons.
We shared artichoke hearts ‘veiled’ in Spanish ham, followed by a beef stew for Dd and tripe done in the Madrid style with chorizo and paprika, for me, accompanied by a deliciously full-bodied Rioja.
Chill in bones sorted!
The tripe (callos) in extras!
