One week on

The NHS obviously uses very permanent markers pre-op… still there after a week. Although I haven’t been able to shower I have washed this at least daily! I’m assuming that the letters stand for Wide Local Excision and Sentinel (lymph) Node Biopsy.

The nurse checked everything over and removed the dressings so I can now shower and wash my own hair (slightly one handed, but ok). All seems to be progressing fine, though I hadn’t taken any ibuprofen on Thursday (just paracetamol) and woke in the middle of the night in as much pain as I had all week. I’m back taking it  and it’s eased down again.
