Welcomed Home
Final leg of the journey home after over nighting in Glasgow was good. A group of older women on the bus were on their way to Oban for a big do. Lots of chat and then they started singing as the mist over Loch Lomond began to lift and the sun came out. Very joyful. Arrived in Oban at 11.40, thought I’d no chance of getting the 11.50 ferry. Had a go though, dragging my 30kg suitcase at speed. As I got near to where the foot passengers embark I saw the ramp going up. One of the Calmac guys saw me, said something into his radio and the ramp was lowered. Another crew member took my suitcase onto the ferry for me - I could have cried, was so pleased to not to have to wait four hours for the next one. It was even warm enough to sit outside in the sunshine. M and the dogs met me at Craignure. Good to be home.
