Wednesday's trip to the office and back was performed mainly using just my front brake.  The rear had practically no bite at all.  Past experience led me to think the pads had become contaminated with brake fluid.  I had a spare pair to install (past me once again having thoughtfully considered future me!) and it was a five minute job to swap them.

It turned out that there was almost no pad material left and the brake lever wasn't pumping quite enough fluid to take up all the wear and exert enough force.  Looks like I got my money's worth from them though.
