RSPB. Geltsdale Nature Reserve

AM and I went for a potter around the local bird reserve. Tom and I have been before. It’s huge with lots of walks to ramble along,
We sat in the bird hide for a while watching the wild foul on Tindale tarn.
Back in the ‘80’s Tom helped the RSPB build a small rock island in the middle of the tarn. We spotted a cormorant and a heron amongst others.
It started to rain at the end of our walk. Fortunately there is a community run cafe in the village. We tucked into raspberry scones and tea. It’s been good to catch up with AM.
