The Train Now Standing.....
Met CMC's sister for mid-morning snackette in Huntly. I had to grip the table tightly when the waitress announced they didn't serve butteries. It's hardly worth getting up some days. Whilst l was parking, and the Ladies were getting seated, for some preternatural reason I'll never fathom, l found myself inside Essons'. Two more remarkable bottles purchased. We then tootled along to Aberlour for lunch. About an hour later my knuckles became white on the steering wheel. Being on tour l haven't had time to thoroughly research this; but l think the downfall of mankind started in 1964. Before then things seemed OK. Just when was the skating rink opened? However it was about this time that a person 'in charge' had three million tons of concrete dropped from a helicopter. It's now called Aviemore. Even more bizarrely friends from Orkney retired to A. We went in past to visit and caught Gavin on his own. We are invited to their golden wedding in May. There was no sign of Celia Humphries on Platform 3. Meantime all is quiet in Newtonmore; I am quietly leafing through my Hornby catalogue.
