Young lady Red-breasted grosbeak

This young gal was so unsure of me and wouldn't approach the feeder while I was anywhere near the area. She just sat an watched all of the other birds take their turn, all the while keeping a keen eye on me. As soon as I left, she got her turn with the sunflower seeds.

Large works for her.

It was a little tricky getting a decent exposure shooting from under the tree... into the light. But it was the only way I could get a good angle through the branches.

Thanks for all of your sweet comments about the girls yesterday. They do make a good emergency blip at the end of a busy day! :)
