festival highlights

scorching day - woohoo!

two highlights of the festival - firstly, seasick steve pictured here who was great. he seemed genuinely pleased to be back playing at belladrum after playing here 7 years ago just before he went on to play later with jools holland and became pretty huge. I was closer to the stage than this photo makes out.

and the second highlight today...my favourite of the festival was dougie maclean on the black isle brewery stage. I had seen him years ago in inverurie town hall and he was great - but wasn't expecting too much when he came on and was clearly annoyed at being drowned out by the noise of the main stage behind him. he totally turned it around though and the whole crowd were singing every song with him - caledonia sounded just ace with everyone singing along. a misty festival moment!
