Symphony Rehearsal
Today, Gina and I attended a rehearsal of the North Carolina Symphony in Raleigh. The guest conductor was the famed Leonard Slatkin. We were in Row M, tough seats to see up close, so my sneaked photos were not the best. The 80 year conductor has been one of my favorites, and it was obvious that the musicians respected him and enjoyed working with him today. The piano soloist, seen with Slatkin in one of the extras was world renowned Olga Kern. She rehearsed the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto #2. The orchestra also rehearsed Tchaikovsky Pathetique and a modern work by Cindy McTee, Timepiece. McTee was in attendance to hear her work rehearsed. A great morning,..
