Dowels
At the moment the surface of the hull looks pretty rough, but never fear! There is a long way to go yet. In the lower three holes you can see the heads of the copper nails that have been riveted. Above them you can see where they have been plugged with wooden dowels that have been made in the shed and glued into place. Towards the end of the build the gaps between the planks will be caulked and the whole thing will be flogged off (made smooth) before a nice glossy finish is applied - a lot to look forward to!
