Gutted...

It was never the finest example of its kind, but I was still quite shocked to discover that Bar Malden, the pub next to the train station, is not just closed for a makeover but is being shut permanently by the brewery which holds the lease. In recent times they had added Thai food to their repertoire, but I guess that in the post-pandemic and economically depressed world of today there just aren't enough people coming home on the train in need of a skinful of booze and some noodles.
