Cooling off at Katrina's

Charlie and I headed over to Katrina and Stanley's today. It feels like it's been an age since we've seen them both, and Stanley has grown a lot of hair in the meantime!

I was trying to get Charlie down for a nap before we left our house but he wasn't having any of it, so I bundled him in the car and that did the trick. He'd conked out before we drove around the corner and continued to sleep for another 30-45 minutes once we got there.

Once he woke up, and Stanley did too, the boys played and the girls nattered and had lunch. In late afternoon we also got the paddling pool out. It was too hot to be outside before then, especially with our fair skinned little men. Charlie and Stanley seemed to really enjoy it. They were both splashing like crazy, and liking tipping water out. I think Charlie was trying to tell me something when he kept leaving to the side and sucking water of it! Thankfully I always keep his beaker with us now and he's an old pro at holding it and feeding himself so he soon got a refreshing drink of water that hadn't come out of a hose pipe!

Charlie is still doing well with his ears despite the infection. I was a little worried about getting them wet, especially in the bath but Charlie solved that problem for me this evening. He refused to lay back as he normally would and instead flipped onto his tummy! Obviously I was a little jittery about his banging his head against the side of the tub, especially as he kept turning his head round to look at what was happening behind him as toys floated past. However he didn't hit his head and seemed to be having a whale of a time.

He's really started enjoying his toys now. It's like he's just realised they're there! Being on his front means he can watch them float around and also grab them to chew on. He thought they were hilarious too and was giggling his head off! Crazy boy.
