Relaxation for the Mind
A lovely relaxing day was planned in Ilfracombe. We went for a walk along the cliffs after breakfast and enjoyed the views in the sunshine. We walked down following the coastal path into Ilfracombe town where we grabbed a "light" lunch. In true holiday resort fashion, that turned out to be a very large portion.
After lunch, we walked down to the quay to see "Verity", a huge new Damien Hirst sculpture before walking back through the town to the tunnels that lead out to some Victorian bathing pools. We sat on the beach and enjoyed more sun, Annie had a quick nap whilst I (Chris) looked for beach based photo opportunities!.
It was late afternoon when we left and we had a nice cup of tea before walking back to the main beach where I had a go at some long exposure shots with the tide was coming in. The cloud cover made everything quite monotone at this stage but it produced some quite moody shots. We went for a fab dinner in the lovely Damien Hirst restaurant before returning to the beach for the sunset where I had another crack at the long exposure shots. With the sun now below the clouds there was more colour, the best of these made today's blip.
So much for relaxing although to be fair, it was a relaxing day for the mind!
