Resting

I hadn't seen anything that would make a good blip during my walk with Kahn this afternoon so after the walk I went to check on the shrub behind the sanctuary. I hadn't really expected to find anything on it as it has almost stopped flowering and was very pleasantly surprised to find several insects feeding on the very few small flower spikes that were still on the shrub.

My biggest problem this evening was choosing only one photo from the number I'd taken. After finally having narrowed down the choice to two shots, it spent an hour trying to make up my mind which of the two was going to become tonight's blip. This hoverfly enjoying a short rest on one of the leaves eventually won it from a flesh fly which was doing the same thing.

Yet again rain has been forecast for this evening/tonight but just like all the other times recently we haven't seen a single drop yet!
