From Russia with....

While sitting in the vets this afternoon, accompanying a friend, in walked this enormous black woolly dog.

 Is it a giant poodle?

“No,” says the owner a big burly man, “ he is a Russian terrier.”

Well, the dog looked more like a small Russian bear. But I am in no position to argue.

A quick check on the internet revealed yes it is a Russian terrier, a new breed developed from seventeen different breeds, after World war 2 by the
Russian  military for their stamina, intelligence and ability to withstand the severe Russian climate and without the aggression of the German shepherd dog.

I note both dog and owner seemed well suited to each other.
