From the hut
Despite the mozzies, I did manage to sleep, and it was 8am when we got up. 3 of the campers had already upped and left long before that.
It was a beautiful calm morning, sun shining and mist rising off the water.
We sat a while and just enjoyed the view. I was also waiting for the other camper to leave so I could have a dip in the lake. He wasn’t in any rush to head off so I eventually just had to strip off and get in. I’m sure I won’t see him again so it doesn’t really matter! The water was lovely and cool - not too cold, but I couldn’t tempt MrKT to come in.
We headed back out to our car, just as the morning tourists were starting to arrive. By luchntime we felt we had already had a busy day!
In the afternoon we drove out along the Milford Highway stopping at a few view points on the way. We stopped for the night at the Cascade campsite - the last stopover before Milford Sound - and very very busy with campervans, and campers. It felt more like a car park than campsite.
