Corfu from the new fortress...

This morning we saw the sun rise! We caught the 7.15 am bus into Corfu town and it was well worth the early start. We joined the crowds in the fruit, veg and fish market and had climbed the steep steps to the new fort in the relative cool of the day before 9.30am. This was the view from the top overlooking the harbour. Just amazing!

I was serenaded by musicians over coffee and we found THE best place to have lunch...in the shade.

I did some gift shopping - and bought myself a pair of pink Ugg boots. We laughed at some amazing T shirt slogans!

It is a great town with a real mixture of old and new. Lots of little narrow alleys and steep steps everywhere. A real maze to explore.
