Life through my eyes

Happy robin

Also an extra where I liked the pose but this captured his beautiful singing.

It's been a full day, as I had a hospital appointment to get the results of the MRI of my hips from just before Christmas. It confirmed the suspicion of arthritis in both hips, and I haven't elected for surgery yet. I'm still able to manage it with painkillers, although some days only just. I can still get on a motorbike even if it's not the most elegant!

Jo had come with me so she could go back to the volunteers office. They have found a ward that is desperate for a befriender and took Jo to meet the ward sister. All went well and the volunteer co-ordinator said hopefully this will be a happy solution.

We called into The Mall for a tuna mayo baked potato at Soho coffee and a look in M&S. I found a sweater and tank top in the sale and had sparks vouchers so almost "free", and a peruse of the food resulted in a week's worth of ready meals (better than crisps and biscuits and creme eggs/tangfastics) was just under £20 as they were all yellow stickers. Must have been good as the checkout lady was reacting to each discount.

Paint bought for Jo's internal doors as Beau's claws from opening them have left the odd scratch or dozen!

Called into Tesco for milk, bread and cereals.

Dobbies for our free hot chocolate.

Collected Beau from doggy day care. He didn't want to go this morning and stood outside my front door which Jo says he does all the time. And then tried to get out of his collar and back to us me. He always comes to me first when we pick him up much to the amusement of the staff!

When we got home Jo noticed a large piece of metal sticking out of one of her two month old rear tyres and started to pull it out and didn't hear the air hissing out. I took Beau in with me so she could go and get it looked at before it went completely flat. Annoyingly it wasn't repairable but split two ways wasn't too painful. Plus a weary Beau and I got to snuggle up in the sunshine. Five days in a row! I can't remember the last time that happened!

Notes to self:

I'm going to go back to the hand specialist about the arthritis in my right thumb as that is a lot more problematic, and interferes with art and guitar. He also showed me the X-ray on my shoulder from Jan 14th (see extra) and said there is some healing. Looking back to July I can see the soft callus but other than that it doesn't look much different and he said it's a large surface of bone that needs to heal. Whilst I understand the preference to let it heal, I really do wish they had pinned it surgically last July, rather than waiting 18 months to see what happens. It really caused me a lot of pain the last few days so I may need to see the surgeon.
