Halifax Bomber Wreckage

This piece of wreckage was handed into the museum a couple of weeks ago. It was removed from it's site with permission from the MOD and all the relevant licenses. It had to be moved as the area it was in was being worked on by a conservation team.
The Halifax crashed in 1944 and the mountain rescue team from RAF Montrose were sent out to help. Unfortunately all 8 crew died. Some of the crew are buried at a cemetery just outside of Montrose.
