Tiny teeth marks

This is the top of our household waste bin.

These strange holes have, in my opinion, been caused by an animal gnawing away at the lid try to get inside.
Fox, squirrel, rat, mouse or simply the lifting mechanism of the waste disposal vehicle that collects the bins?
