Following the excitement of Saturday and Sunday's birds in flight carrying prey, today's female mallard is a little more prosaic  :-)

It is Shrove Tuesday, also known as Pancake Day, here in the UK.  We will of course be having pancakes this evening, though I anticipate that we will probably want to have crepes this year, rather than American style pancakes in reaction to J D Vance's disparaging remarks re "some random country" earlier on.  While I struggle to see any coherent strategy behind the current international behaviour of the Trump administration that could result in America becoming "great again", I have only sympathy for American friends as they watch the horrific actions of their leaders.

We live in increasingly interesting times it seems.
