Female Moorhen

Back to my Bird shots again! lol
This a hard working Mum of three chicks and while the kids are off on the pond with Dad.It leaves Mum a bit of time to stretch her wings and have a bit of a clean up?
The choice of shot was made because of the light.The green in the water is quite natural.I have not enhanced it and I think it throws a light on the whole subject.Her beautiful outstretched wing,catching the warm morning Sun after a very wet night brooding the youngsters no doubt?
We now have 5 or 6 pairs of Moorhen on the system and all have reared young this year. Hopefully now an established flock?
