Marjorie's ramblings

Bird of the day

It’s a shame about the perch (!) but this bald ibis gave us a great display. I turned my back to look at what the others were seeing and missed the take off. Humph. Still I had a good time capturing several different poses.

We drove to Agadir, then north on the coast where we saw the ibis. It was cooler than yesterday and there were a few drops of rain, but nothing much. We saw a large number of different plants and a few good insects and reptiles.

The beech is good for surfing. This afternoon, we sat and watched some spectacular waves. I have blipped a calmer section of the sea, using Spectre.

I saw so many plants that my head is reeling.

We lunched on a beach where three dogs came and lay nearby, not bothering us at all. We gave them the remains of our lunch, after which they entertained us with lively play.

Dominic, one of our leaders, planned for us to go to a supermarket in Agadir for supplies, especially a few beers. The hotel staff were happy to put these in the fridge for us.

No such luck, because there was only 0% alcohol on display. Ramadan has become more evident today. We were asked to eat late so that the staff were not handling food during the fast. The refrigerators were locked during the day.

This evening there was a spectacular lightening show with frequent discharges of sheet lightening. We had an interesting discussion about whether the noise of thunder is the noise of lightening or not. I had to accept that it is, after some online researching!

My second extra is sea lavender.

Tonight’s tea was marjoram. Most of us did not like this. Top score so far is to geranium and lemon grass. They tied!
