Evening light near the river

Another lovely sunny cold day.  I went to the gym for a sprint cycle class and then returned home after a quick stop at the supermarket.  

I managed to get the last appointment at the doctors this morning and was reassured to know that the growing number freckle like spots were not of concern and it was right to get them looked at.   

 In the afternoon I pulled a bit more of the grass / couch grass out of the allotment before going out to try and see the barn owl again.  I arrived in the area before sunset and the light on the trees along the estuary was lovely so I took a few shots.  I then waited around watching, a few other people turned up but not the owl.  I ended up being the last one waiting and then a dog walker said she had just seen a beaver by the river edge so I decided to walk up in the last of the light too see if I could also find it.  I didn't but it was a lovely quiet evening, cold but with the soft sounds of water lapping and the odd bird call.  I then returned home in the dark.
