Sutton Bridge

carries an arterial road, the A17, across the river Nene. The bridge swings round to allow tall vessels through. Just behind me is Port Sutton Bridge but no ships in port tonight. The river goes ahead to serve the port at Wisbech which does accommodate cargo vessels and they cannot get any further inland, pleasure craft of course can navigate further upstream.
