The Difference A Week Makes

As I said last week, I like the difference in daylight on my way to Monday night football. Sadly the game wasn't a s close as last week, largely due to their excellent goalkeeper. He kept out several shots that should have been goals and that I think pushed us too try hard to score, leading to people blazing the ball over or past the post. Me included. The other side seemed to get all the breaks, with several unfortunate deflected goals. For a while the dreaded 'grannying' crossed my mind, but we did eventually score, when they replaced their goalie. We scored a few more (although not me, guilty of shooting too quickly and missing the target more than once) but the score was never close. Ah well, there's always next week.
