Replenishing

It would never do to run out of books, so here is the latest batch. I know at least a few of my blipmates like to see piles of books. One of these is a book group read, another a birthday present -- you can guess which if you like!

In other related news, we had a big clear out of the bookshelves in the office. Admittedly a small part of this was S chucking books into boxes unsupervised and me rescuing some of them. But we did end up with several bags and boxes of books, visibly emptier shelves, and I wasted no time in taking some to the book swap in Tourouzelle. Unfortunately due to a misunderstanding I thought there was no-one there, but I still managed to offload a batch by leaving it in the porch, and will take more next time. I also listed a handful of recent ones for sale online and sold one within half an hour.

Apart from that I have been wondering what to do with my collection of about 100 Granta magazines (actually paperback books) from the mid-1980s onwards which have been on the top shelf for 27 years. I did try to give them away before we left the UK, but no joy, and I didn't want to throw them away so they came with us. Today I posted on a local Facebook group and within hours had two people offering to take them off my hands. Excellent!

Flushed with this success, we went through larder and storeroom and identified a bunch of kitchen-related stuff which can go to a local "give away stuff you don't want" event at the weekend. We are hoping you don't have to leave with items no-one wants at the end.

I'm glad we went for a lovely walk yesterday as the weather has been dismal today. Fire lit already, and I managed to miss the Monday walk but wouldn't have fancied it anyway.
