Japan - Day Nine

A visit to the Kenroku-en Japanese Garden - it seems impossible for me to convey the deep beauty of this place. Heavy downpours all morning and then great relief when the rain turned to a drizzle so we would not have to miss out on this experience. I was especially worried since I didn't want to slip and fall in a Japanese Garden again
So much to see and hear that took my breath away - soil carefully removed to reveal ancient tree roots, a bridge made up of eleven red stones laid out to resemble geese in a flying formation, a blue heron taking a dip in a waterfall...but in the end, it is the schoolchildren appearing out of the grayness with their brightly colored raincoats and rubber boots that I had to choose for today's photograph. I posted a few more
