The Battle For The New Republic
On This Day In History
1931: The Star Spangled Banner becomes the official U.S. national anthem
Quote Of The Day
"Then, in that hour of deliverance, my heart spoke. Does not such a country, and such defenders of their country, deserve a song?"
(Francis Scott Key)
A gift from an appreciative pupil gave me an easy blip today. I was planning on something Star Wars related since The Star Spangled Banner, being a song about fighting for liberation from British rule, seems to have parallels with the Rebel Alliance and their struggle for freedom from the Empire.
So, what do you say, America? Are you ready to do battle once more to fight for a New Republic?
May the Force be with you.
Or should I say, "Glory, glory, Hallelujah?"
