A mosaic..

..of lichens.

I don't know much about lichens, but I think I'll have to learn some. Any pointers?

Late start to the day as G and Cath were up late watching a DVD last night. I was up at my normal time, and managed to get several jobs done before I made their tea.

Handrail for the hay loft, feed hens, put the bin out, read the thermometers, and odd jobs in the tunnel. Lifted the tomatoes, taking the lower leaves off to allow light to get to the ripening fruit, not digging the plants out!!

At work, we would stop for breakfast at 9:30, having started at 7:30. I'm sort of carrying this on still..

After, I weeded the tunnel, and sorted out some trickle irrigation that wasn't quite right. Happy now, with separate runs for the main beds..

Some people turned up for veg that I'd met at the Durness Games, and once they'd gone, I went to start A's tractor, but the battery was flat, so it's now charging..

Cleaned the hens out, s h 1 t and the bedding, and then got the compressor in and blew off all the places where dust and mites could shelter. Stripped off to my pants, and then donned a spray suit, dust mask, and goggles..

Only do this once or twice a year. Could spray round with Jeye's Fluid as well..
