Brancaster Staithe just after sunrise

I never slept well last night as I am anxious about renting out the house. I woke up at about 3am and never went back to sleep, so I got up and set off at 6am for Burnham Overy Staithe to photograph the sunrise. I do know that at this time of year the sunrise is over the land and not the water, but I was hoping for some lovely colourful reflections on the water which did not happen. I did photograph the sunrise over the land, but when there are no clouds the sunrise is just a layer of deep orange above the horizon which is not that interesting - see extra.

On the way back I stopped off at Brancaster Staithe and the morning light was beautiful on the reeds, they were glowing golden, so that is my blip today.

It was another beautiful sunny day with no wind, so after breakfast we took Xena back to the beach as she loves walking there.

Then it was back to the house and we had a very busy day preparing the house for the rental agency. As they like to provide their own bed linen and towels for guests (and fluffy white dressing gowns along with some fancy toiletries) we had to strip all the beds and fold up the bedding to take home. We also moved our groceries into an 'owner's cupboard' which gets locked - this was already in the house as it is common to rent out properties there. It's an enormous walk in cupboard and we can store all our personal things there. We had to clear every room of all personal things and there was just so much to take home, especially with all the towels and bedding, that Gavin will need to go back next weekend to get the rest of it.

An easy journey home, but I am tired after my early start this morning so it will be an early night for me.

I made roast chicken and roast root vegetables for lunch and then we finally loaded all the stuff into the car and left at about 3pm.
