Storm clouds gathering
The weather forecast is for heavy rains and wind for the next couple of days. The clouds out at sea were visible this afternoon -but there's always the hope that the bad weather will stay out at sea!
It's time to explain my lack of replying to my blipmates comments over the past few weeks! Appropriate as T-Rex is doing the rounds in the UK for cancer awareness month...see the blips of tinacox.
My newly married son (see blip 6th April) had a mole removed from his thigh in June and it was found to be a malignant melanoma stage 3 - not good news. Further surgery revealed a spread to the sentinel lymph glands. What a terrible shock for us all. He had a PET scan last week and to our absolute joy, no further spread was seen. For the next five years he will have to undergo regular testing, but he is positive that he will beat the cancer by a healthy lifestyle and eating a strictly vegan diet.
So...let me add to the cancer awareness month by emphasizing how important early detection is. Regular check ups by a dermatologist are so important.
To add to this my weekend visit to Pretoria was to visit my god daughter for her 26th birthday. Sadly she is suffering from multiple sclerosis and is already paralysed from the waist down and in a wheel chair. But she too has a fighting spirit and is full of fun.
We need to be grateful at all times for good health....
