Happy to See Me
It wasn’t only the crocuses who carpeted so much of the Meadows today, the runners were out too in their hundreds doing a mind numbing number of laps round the paths to complete a Marathon, a Half Marathon, a 10K or a 5K. With the Merry Widows otherwise engaged it was Daughter #1 and I who had coffee together and watched the start of the runs from the rear of the EFI building.
The sun which had cheered up the start of the day, lost heart somewhere along the line so that after lunch when I walked across the Meadows to see daughter#2, it was grey, bleak and cold. I don’t suppose it mattered much to the runners , they were too busy pounding the paths and trying to keep a tab on the number of laps they had completed- 18 for the full Marathon- unbelievably boring!
The weather is more than disappointing. I feel we should be enjoying a little more warmth and sunshine. My virginal white crocus had opened up to the earlier sunshine but hadn’t been quick enough to close up before I caught it for my blip
