Broadlie brick works

The works was one of three Dalry brickworks built to make bricks from " blaes " the waste from coal works in North Ayrshire. When we bought this new brick built house in 1970 I dug out well over 100 bricks plus masses of other building debris. There was no landscaping by builders then only a slabbed path to the front door !! This specimen is the only named one left and I use it to keep the greenhouse door extra closed in storms.
