Grand uncle

A full day. A 90 mile trip down the M6 to celebrate my brother in law’s 70th.

There were lots of photos of family and friends on view, many of whom were present at the lunch. There was an animal theme to the balloons as he is a vet! There was even a picture of him working on the teeth of a snow leopard.

Our grandson was offered a choice at the end of the event and opted for the hedgehog. We managed to store them safely in the boot for the return trip backup the M6. One of the extras is of his farewell meeting with his grand uncle. The other is of vet humour. I do recall leaving our wedding reception to find inflated arm length gloves filling our taxi. ( they had not been used fortunately!)

It was a great event and so nice to meet up for a happy occasion. I was on grandpa duty so spent a lot of time running after said grandson to check he kept himself safe. My step count benefitted as a result despite several hours of driving.

It was also great to see nephews and nieces and their families growing and developing. And catching up with the older generation into which I now fall.

To cap it all off, there was a glorious sunset and a display of a crescent moon and (possibly) a sight of Saturn low on the horizon.
