Ladder

Just before I take him to catch his flight back to London, son C helped me stash a few things in the roof of the garage I share with a neighbour. It's actually an old remise which would have been used perhaps for housing a horse and cart, with hay-loft above, and which more recently accomodated a large concrete wine vat. It's a good arrangement - we also share a trailer and a barbecue, also stored in the garage - and what with the lending of tools and so on it saves us a lot of expense. Not to mention cementing our friendship.

One month on today, and it hit me as we worked that I'm still descending, and there's an awful long way to climb back up.
