Briancon

A visit to this French city right on border of Italy was great. This is part of the old town which is based around a fort designed and built by Vauban in the 17th century. He was quite a guy by all accounts and at age 34 he oversaw all of the defences of France in the service of Louis XIV ... In all he designed and built 12 forts around France. Very interesting day.

There was also a short thunder storm with very heavy rain but we took shelter in a cool bar called Spirit.

All in all a very good day we think. :)
